Nappy Rash
Nappy rash is mostly caused by your baby being left in a wet or dirty nappy for too long. Stale urine creates a type of ammonia which irritates the baby´s skin leaving it looking red and blotchy. The ammonia breaks down the protective barrier of the skin causing redness and inflammation of the affected area, sometimes a fungal infection set off by dampness under the nappy can cause nappy rash. If left untreated the rash will spread.
